Rereadable Books

As I was giving my baby girl a bottle one night while watching one of my favorite action movies, several thoughts collided: 

• How old does my daughter need to be before I can show her this incredibly violent film without being a bad parent?

• Why weren't there any good female characters in the best action movies of the 80s and 90s?

• Why are so many popular children's books miserable to read?

Not long after that, I got to work creating stories that share the sense of humor and adventure of some of my favorite movies. 

And I want to show my daughters that girls can be the Alphas - they can be the heroes of their own stories - so all of my books have a girl saving the day.
